4th Princess Stacey Lam, 1st Princess Christina Soo Hoo, Narcissus Queen Ningjin Miao, 2nd Princess Jasmine Nip, and 4th Princess Erica Lee
Usually held mid-January, the Narcissus Queen Pageant establishes the new Queen and Court for the upcoming year. The pageant is comprised of four parts that contestants are judged upon: to perform a talent of their choosing, the cheong sam gown phase, and a question and answer phase based on the Chinese history and traditions learned. Also, each individual attends a private interview with the judges immediately before the pageant that addresses topics ranging from personal interests to political issues affecting the State of Hawaii. Other titleholders include Miss Talent (determined by the highest score earned for her talent piece), Miss Popularity (awarded to the contestant who has sold the most pageant tickets), and Miss Congeniality (voted upon by all contestants, of who qualifies as the friendliest and most companionable).
Members of the 62nd Narcissus Festival Court including 1st Princess Christina Soo Hoo, 2nd Princess Jasmine Nip, and 4th Princess Erica Lee, will play host to the young keiki in the Keiki Zone from 10am-2pm.
Also, all day in the Keiki Zone (10am-6pm) will be a "bouncie", balloons by Douglas Odani, crystal face painting and tattoos by Lei Crystal Tattoos, and video games by JMJ Gaming! Click here for a complete schedule.
